Moscow Region, January 22, 2024 – During a working visit to Irkutsk, the Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) Anton Shalaev got acquainted with the developments of scientists from the East Siberian branch of the Russian Metrological Institute of Technical Physics and Radio Engineering (VNIIFTRI).
"One of the most important activities of the East Siberian branch of VNIIFTRI is measuring time and frequency, as well as determining the parameters of the Earth's rotation. We presented to the Head of Rosstandart a unique testing area designed for both permanent and experimental measurements in this area, as well as a number of other developments by the specialists of the branch," said Oleg Denisenko, Deputy General Director of the FSUE VNIIFTRI for coordinate and temporal measurements.
Oleg Denisenko and the acting director of the branch, Anna Lukovnikova, presented to the Head of the Department the State primary standards, the custodian of which is the branch – including standards of units of complex dielectric permittivity, as well as the latest developments of specialists in the field of gas humidity measurements.
The East Siberian branch of the FSUE “VNIIFTRI” is one of the state scientific metrological institutes of the Siberian region, which carries out activities to reproduce the national time scale and reference frequencies, determine the parameters of the Earth's rotation, develop, improve, maintain, compare and apply state primary standards of units of quantities.
