VNIIFTRI summarized the results of the XIII Russian Conference "Metrology in Radio Electronics"

Moscow Region, June 22, 2023 – The XIII Russian Conference "Metrology in Radio Electronics" has finished its work today. The scientific forum was organized by the FSUE “VNIIFTRI” in association with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Agency for Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) and was held from June 20 to 22. The conference was attended by about 190 representatives of more than 57 enterprises and scientific organizations in the field of radio electronics. The organizers and participants of the conference paid special attention to the current status, opportunities and prospects for the development of precision instrumentation in the Russian Federation under sanction restrictions, as well as ensuring the independence of the domestic industry from the supply of foreign measuring equipment.

 In his greeting to the conference participants, Deputy Head of Rosstandart Evgeny Lazarenko noted that the Russian Federation retains a leading position in measuring capabilities approved by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures. To date, the reference base of Russia consists of 159 State primary standards, while every fourth of them serves the interests of radio engineering and radio electronics.

 "The task of creating modern control and measuring equipment and radio measuring devices is one of the priorities and is reflected in the Development Strategy of the electronic industry of the Russian Federation. At the conference, representatives of all areas – government, science, production and consumers – discussed key directions and prospects for the development of Russian radio electronics," noted Sergey Donchenko, General Director of the FSUE “VNIIFTRI”.

 The plenary session of the Conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart), Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences and other organizations.

 During the conference, experts presented more than 80 reports on topical issues of ensuring the uniformity of measurements of radio engineering quantities, problems and prospects for the development of metrology in the field of radio engineering and radio electronics in the Russian Federation were considered.

 "The development of metrology in radio electronics today is one of the priority areas for the development of metrology in general. To date, the main driving force of the development of radio electronics and, accordingly, the means and methods of measuring radio engineering quantities is the work on the deployment of communication and telecommunications networks of a new generation, intensive development and implementation of navigation aids, the beginning of active work of the domestic industry in the area of the development of modern microelectronics products, including microwave electronics and microwave photonics", - emphasized Ivan Malay, Deputy of the General Director of the FSUE “VNIIFTRI” for radio engineering measurements.

 During the open discussions, solutions were worked out in the field of prospects for the development of the system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements during electromagnetic compatibility tests, ensuring traceability and uniformity of measurements of parameters of microelectronic structures in the Russian Federation, as well as the organization of production of both domestic electronic component base and high-precision measuring devices themselves.

 The conference was held in three sections: "Measurements of the parameters of the electromagnetic field, characteristics of antenna systems and radar scattering of objects", "Measurements of the power of electromagnetic oscillations, characteristics of lines and paths of transmission of radio signals", "Measurements of the parameters of the shape, spectrum and modulation of radio signals".

 Among the participants of the conference there were the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Electrodynamics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics SB of RAS, FSUE NPP “Gamma”, Moscow, NPP “Radio, Devices and Communications”, Microwave Systems JSC and other organizations, AO “MORION”, AO “PF Mikran”.
